My personal transformation journey began 6 years ago. I was making mindless lifestyle habits and lacked the awareness and knowledge to choose better. The person I was, both inside and out, was not who I wanted to be. Fueled by the desire to shed a few pounds, I embarked on a 2-week meal plan that helped me bring awareness to the food and portions I was eating. I had no long term vision at this point. Like many of us, I wanted fast results.
What started as a 2-week plan became much more. I found a curiosity and passion for the world of nutrition, fitness and wellness. I learned more about it every chance I got. I started working out consistently, trying new types of fitness classes and discovering different forms of movement that I actually enjoyed. I mindfully chose the food I consumed. I found new ways of creating foods I loved in a healthier way. I lost weight and felt and looked my best. I had zero brain fog, amazing sleep and my energy levels were like never before! I completely changed the way I saw nutrition, and in fact, how I perceived myself. I became a healthy person. Someone who worked out. Someone who had so much energy to share with the world. I felt great.
However, this blissful moment did not last. It became too strict, too restrictive, too stressful. I was making ALL the “healthy” choices , but I was not taking care of my mind or prioritizing rest. I started dealing with gut issues, hormonal imbalances, difficulty sleeping and acne.
I knew something had to change. I started looking at health as overall wellness and prioritizing rest. My physical health, mental health and emotional health all became one. I incorporated sustainable mindfulness habits that allowed me to take care of my stress levels. I reduced the intensity of my workouts, incorporated more rest while still prioritizing movement I loved. My skin has never looked better and I get restful sleep. I made more time for dinners with family and friend, date nights, fun activities and play. Along the way, I stopped stressing out when I could not control the food that was on my plate and simply became more present with the people I was with. I found balance and truly embodied that 80/20 lifestyle. Much more, I found myself, happiness and freedom. I then got certified as a Holistic Nutrition Health Coach and became a Fitness Instructor.
I truly believe that every woman can and deserves to feel and look her best. I know you can achieve this by cultivating sustainable nutrition, movement, and mindfulness habits. The different stages of my journey enable me to empathize and meet you where you are today. I want to work with you to create a healthy lifestyle that works for you for the long term.
